Employment - Detail

Petrospec Computer Corporation, Computer Scientist / Project Leader

Designed, coded, and successfully brought to market several software packages including equiPoise - Geopressure Analysis and Detection Software, GeoPressure Estimation Software (GPES), pQube 3D - Pore Pressure from Seismic, CoQube Coherency Analysis, Data Capture Software (DCS), and Mistie. These geology and drilling engineering data analysis programs were implemented on Intel, Sparc and VAXStation workstations using C/C++ for MS-Windows, Motif and VAX UIS graphics. Responsible for managing a group of 14 programmers on these projects.

Technical consulting include web page design using HTML and JavaScript, Y2K project design and coding, applications of geological and geophysical data processing techniques, map projection digitizing, pore pressure and fracture gradient prediction. Also developed petrophysical database specifications using information engineering/CASE for Recall, Ingres, and Oracle Database systems.

Clients include Amoco Production Company, ARCO, Mobil Oil Co., Petroleum Computing, Inc., Occidental International Exploration and Production Company, Chevron Producing Services Inc., Zales Corporation, Weinman and Associates, Inc., Government of Canada, and others.

Richland College - DCCCD, Continuing Education Instructor

Teach beginning and advanced C/C++ classes in the Microcomputer Continuing Education Department on a part-time basis.

Petroleum Computing, Inc., Vice President, Software Development

Successfully managed and coded large-scale petrophysical data analysis software (PCI-LAS) in Intel x86 and MicroVAX workstation environments. Ported numerous MS-DOS applications from the VAX VMS environment. Developed a device independent graphics and hardcopy subsystem. Clients included Mobil Oil Co., Shell Oil Co., Sun Production Co., and others. Prepared work schedules for programming staff; managed productivity.

Placid Oil Company, Manager of Mapping and Image Processing

Drafted specifications, scheduled work for staff, and developed a mini/microcomputer based geoscientific workstation and database that integrated many aspects of geological data analysis including basemapping and contouring. Used as the Placid's standard mapping system.

Sohio Petroleum Company, Senior Technical Programmer

Installed, supported, modified, and maintained mapping and contouring packages (CPS-1, ZMAP, and ISM) corporation wide and other geophysical packages. Researched new mapping techniques for enhancing spatial data analysis. Developed ORACLE applications for petroleum data management.
